30+ years helping people change
Does this sound familiar?
Most of the people I work with are coping on the surface — but paying a hidden cost underneath. If a few of these feel familiar, you’re in the right place.
You hold it together at work all day — then unravel the moment you get home.
Your mind won’t switch off — checking, replaying, planning for the worst, waking at 4am.
You say yes when you mean no, put everyone else first, and quietly resent it.
Something from the past still has its hand on the wheel, however well you function.
The panic, the dread, the physical symptoms — you’re exhausted by carrying it.
You’ve read the books and understand why — but nothing has actually changed yet.
What therapy with me is really about
Understanding the “why” matters, but it’s only the doorway. The goal is your life back, and a way of coping that lasts.
Back to work, sleeping again, present with the people you love — doing the things anxiety took from you.
Steady your nervous system and quiet the spirals, so you’re driving again — not being driven.
Say no, protect your energy, and stop shrinking yourself to keep everyone else comfortable.
Practical skills you keep for good — so the change holds long after our sessions end.
How we’ll work together
We build a clear map of your patterns — where the anxiety, stress or old trauma is really coming from, in plain English.
Proven CBT and trauma-informed techniques you actually use between sessions — not just talk about in the room.
We track your progress so the change is measurable and real — and you leave equipped to keep it going.
Areas I work with
Whether it has a clinical name or just feels like “too much,” these are the areas I help with most.
About me
I’m a BABCP-Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience helping people move from just coping to genuinely living. I work with adults, couples and older adults, entirely online — so you can have therapy from anywhere in the world.
My style is warm, direct and practical. We won’t spend months circling the problem — we’ll understand what’s keeping you stuck and then do something about it, together, at a pace that feels right for you. My clients often tell me it’s the first time therapy has felt like it was actually going somewhere.
What drew me to this work is personal. I overcame my own anxiety not by following the usual advice, but by questioning it and finding what genuinely worked in real life. Ever since, I’ve been driven to build insanely practical tools that help people cope when relationships are draining and life feels out of their control. I bring the same down-to-earth, unconventional approach to every client I see.
Beyond the therapy room, I also work as an AI strategist — see the fuller picture of my work ↗
In their words
Real reflections from people I’ve worked with, in their own words. Names are withheld — every client’s privacy is completely confidential.
I used to google every symptom and check myself in the mirror, convinced something was rotting inside me and things just kept going wrong, one after another… Now I’ve stopped the googling and the checking — I sit with a symptom and let it pass, and I trust my body again.
Before, I was washing my hands constantly, always feeling they weren’t clean enough, and I couldn’t even carry a laundry basket… Now I can’t remember the last time I had that problem — I’m using far less soap, and I’ve done my own laundry.
Before, I had no energy — there was a piece of work hanging over me and I couldn’t even open my laptop to start it… Now I’m going back to work full-time, and instead of overloading myself, I’m learning to pace my days.
Before, when my partner was stressed I’d snap back and it would blow up into an argument — as if her mood was just happening to me… Now, instead of snapping, I can pause and steer the conversation somewhere better for both of us.
I used to be terrified I’d die in my sleep or that my heart would stop — a muscle spasm would feel like a heart attack… Now, having learned to just sit with the sensation until it passes, that fear has completely gone.
Right now I’m doing double the workload — normally that would have left me extremely stressed and terrified of getting it wrong… Now I feel okay: if I need a break, I take one, and I don’t blame myself that it’s more than one person can handle.
I used to order a lot of takeaways and have chocolate delivered… That’s all stopped now — I’m cooking fresh meals at home, and the chocolate deliveries have stopped too.
I always believed I was unlikeable and boring, so I’d hold myself back around people… Now I let myself be who I am, and I’m not judging myself — so I’ve stopped thinking everyone else is judging me too.
Before, I spent about 90% of my time imagining something terrible happening to my children and checking on them constantly… This week I’ve only had two of those thoughts. One might still cross my mind, but I can tell myself it’s pointless — the thought doesn’t grab me and hold me like it used to.
I never spoke about what happened to me for years — even the bare facts of the abuse used to trigger a visceral, disgusted reaction… Now, the thought of talking about it doesn’t frighten me at all.
Before, if my mum said something cutting to make me feel guilty, I’d dwell on it for hours — ‘is she right?’… Now I recognise the guilt-trip for what it is straight away, and I don’t take the bait.
When we started, I really didn’t know what to expect, or whether it would even help me — and it turned out even better than I expected. I never imagined I’d be in such a good mental state.
