How to use Your Journey

Everything you need to know — from your first check-in to building a daily practice. Five minutes a day is all it takes.

1. Getting started

From the home page, press “Start your journey — it’s free.” You’ll do three things, in about three minutes:

  1. Choose your path. The Anxiety path is open now (25 micro-lessons); more paths are coming.
  2. Take a quick check-in (see below).
  3. Try your first lesson — no account needed. You play the full first lesson before signing up for anything.
  4. Create your free account to save it — email and a password of 8+ characters. Your finished lesson, check-in results and day-1 streak are saved automatically the moment your dashboard loads.

Tip — install it like an app: on your phone, open the site in your browser and choose “Add to Home Screen” (Safari share menu, or Chrome’s ⋮ menu). Your Journey opens full-screen like a native app.

2. The check-ins (GAD-7 and PHQ-9)

During onboarding you answer the GAD-7 — seven standard questions about anxiety over the last two weeks, each scored 0–3 (total 0–21). You’ll then be offered an optional PHQ-9 mood check-in (nine questions, total 0–27). You can skip it — nothing is locked behind it.

Your scores are shown immediately with a plain-English reading (minimal / mild / moderate / severe). They’re your private baseline: the point isn’t the number today, it’s watching it change as you practise.

3. Daily lessons — the 4 phases

Press “Continue today’s lesson” on your dashboard. Every lesson takes 3–5 minutes and moves through four cards:

  1. Insight — one idea, explained in a few sentences.
  2. Reflect — a personal prompt. Write at least a few words (it’s for you; nobody reviews it).
  3. Quick check — one question. A wrong pick isn’t a fail: you get a short explanation and carry on. You can’t fail a lesson.
  4. Practice — one small real-world task to try today.

Press “Complete lesson ✓” and you’ll get your celebration — then come back tomorrow, or keep going with “Next lesson now.”

4. Streaks and milestones

Completing at least one lesson a day builds your 🔥 streak. Two lessons on the same day still count as one streak day — the streak rewards consistency, not volume. Miss a day and the streak resets to 1 on your next lesson, but your longest streak is always remembered.

Milestones at 3, 7, 14 and 21 days get a special celebration. Day boundaries follow your own timezone — a lesson at half past midnight counts for the new day.

5. Your dashboard

Your dashboard is home base. It shows:

  • Current streak and your longest ever
  • Total lessons completed and your latest check-in score
  • Your path progress bar — e.g. “4 of 25 lessons” through Anxiety Stage 1
  • The button for today’s lesson

Reach it any time via “My dashboard” in the header.

6. Retaking your check-ins

You can retake the check-ins whenever you like: go to the check-in page while signed in, answer the questions, and the new result is saved to your account — your dashboard shows the latest score. We suggest re-checking every 30 days to see your trend.

7. Your data — export and delete

Everything you create belongs to you. At the bottom of your dashboard, under “Your data”:

  • Download everything we hold about you — a complete JSON export of your account, progress, streaks, check-ins and reflections.
  • Delete my account and all data — after one confirmation, your account and every trace of your data are erased permanently and immediately. There is no recovery.

8. A note on safety

Your Journey supports your wellbeing alongside — never instead of — care from a real person. It is not therapy and not a crisis service. If things feel heavy, consider speaking with your GP or a therapist; that's a strong, brave step. If you need someone right now: Samaritans, 116 123 (UK, free, 24/7) or text SHOUT to 85258. The “Need help now” button at the top of every page brings these up any time.
